Hardware & Software

Hardware

Laptops

The Library has twenty-one Dell laptops running Windows 7, as well as a MacBook Pro. These are available for 6-hour checkout (yes, you can also check out a charger) for use within the Library. See our laptop policy page for more information.

iPads

Versions 1 and 2. Six-hour loan period, in-library use only.

Sony Bloggie MP4 Cameras

A ridiculously easy tool for taking video footage. 7-day loan period.

Chargers

We have chargers for various generations of iPhones, iPads, and iPods, as well as most Android phones.

Peripherals

We offer an analog-to-digital converter, which can digitize your old analog recordings and videos.

We also have headphones, headsets, freestanding microphones, web cams, CD/DVD drives, and a smartcard reader/writer.

Finally, you can check out USB flash drives. They're not as much fun as an iPad, but can be lifesavers when you need to save scans from a non-networked machine (like our color scanner/copier).

Public Computers in the Library

The Library has over seventy Windows 7 workstations available for use by IC faculty, staff, and students. These are located all around the second floor, in Gannett 319, and along the lake side windows of the third floor. There are also eight Mac Mini computers. Software on these machines includes:
