Search Strategies

To find community based information, try searching something like this:
  • String together synonyms using "OR":
  1. "needs assessment" or community research or community based participatory research or community health services or community assessment
  2. occupational therap* or "occupational health"
  3. unemploy* or workforce or employment or job*‚Äč
  • Limit your topic to the “TI Title”, “AB Abstract”, “SU Subject”, "MW Word in Subject Heading (if in CINAHL or Medline)
  • Using the "*" to broaden a term and find different endings: occupational therapy; occupational therapist; occupational therpeutics

  • Review the subject headings as a way to find new terms to search: Community Assessment; Community Health Services
