ebrary is a collection of e-books at the Ithaca College Library. You can download a PDF excerpt from any ebook. Some books can be downloaded in full and transferred to an e-book reader.
Download a PDF excerpt -- up to 60 pages -- from a single e-book, which you can read on your computer screen or transfer to an e-book reader. The PDF will stay on your device until you delete it. There is no expiration date.
Step 1: Create an ebrary Account
If you have already created an ebrary account, skip this step. If you haven't, create an ebrary account.
Step 2: Find Your e-book in ebrary
Inside ebrary, find and open the e-book you want and click the Download button:
Select an option under Standard Image-PDF Format:

NOTE: You will only be able to downlaod a maximum of 60 pages per session.
Click OK. This will download a PDF of the chapter or excerpt to the desktop or downloads file on your computer.
Step 2: Transfer the PDF to your Device
If you will be reading the book chapter or excerpt on your computer, you may skip this step.
Transfer your PDF to the following devices:

- iPad
- Kindle
- Nook -- find your model > click Frequently Asked Questions > click Beyond eBooks
- Sony Reader
NOTE: Amazon Kindles use proprietary software that is incompatible with Adobe Digital Editions, so you cannot download entire ebrary e-books to your Kindle. You can, however, use the download a chapter option. For information on the Kindle Fire, keep reading.
