Linking to Library E-Resources

Linking to Library E-Resources

To create a link to a journal article from a database or on a publisher's website, you need to use publisher-produced persistent URLs because the URL in the address bar won't work later on.

Most databases provide URLs for linking to a full-text article fro a citation list or other website. Unfortunately, every database company does it differently. This guide will lay out basic instructions for finding and using the full-text link in the major databases to which the IC Library subscribes.

IC Library Catalog

Records in the IC Library Catalog now have persistent URLs available by clicking "Link to This Record" in the yellow sidebar of an item's information page. Click this link. Copy and paste the Permanent URL from the pop up window.
